This rare vintage 1960 US half sheet re-release is for the adventure movie 'Man with the Golden Arm' starring Frank Sinatra and Kim Novak. This 1955 film was based on the Novel by Nelson Agren written in 1949. It recounts the story of a drug addict who gets clean while in prison, but struggles to stay that way in the outside world. The film's initial release was controversial for its treatment of the then-taboo subject of drug addiction.

The poster is designed by the infamous Saul Bass, the prolific film and movie sequence title designer. This artwork for the Man with the Golden Arm is one of the most recognised for the designers signature paper cut out black arm.
