Post revolutionary Cuba experienced a huge cultural and creative shift, with some of the countries artists deploying bold visual design to embody the spirit and ideals of the nation. Movie poster art sponsored by the Instituto Cubano del Arte y la Industria Cinematográfica (ICAIC) makes up a huge body of Cuba's posters.
This original 2nd edition Cuban handmade silk-screen poster was made in Havana, Cuba, likely reprinted in the 1990s. This beautiful poster is for the 1975 Juan Carlos Tabio Cuban artist documentary short, about the Cuban painter, Amelia Pelaez, from the Avant-garde generation. This sought-after silk screen was officially printed at the ICAIC (Cuban Film Institute) silk-screen workshop in Havana, Cuba.
