This is a rare and original vintage US One Sheet is for the 1980 psychological horror 'The Shining' directed by Stanley Kubrick, co-written with novelist Diane Johnson and featuring Jack Nicholson. A family heads to an isolated hotel for the winter where a sinister presence influences the father, Jack Torrence (played by Nicholson) into violence.

The poster is designed by the infamous Saul Bass, the prolific film and movie sequence title designer. The design has a story of it's own as apparently Saul Bass produced over 300 designs for Kubrick until they finally agreed on this iconic poster of the terrifying pointillism face in the lettering of the word 'The Shining'

Artist: Saul Bass

Size: Large Vertical (27' x 41')

Condition: Very Good. Folded, and has a minor tear top right. Very presentable in the frame or ready to restoration.

This is not a reproduction or reprint. This is an original poster that was meant to be displayed outside a cinema or in a lobby somewhere in the world. Some of these posters are limited runs, signed, stickered or a super rare style. Some carry the scars of being well loved, either way it will look great on your wall.
