Disney started producing animated films in 1937, which represents the beginning of the Golden Age. Throughout this period Disney produced hit fairytales and fantasies including Snow White and Pinocchio, which would go on to be the first animated feature to win a competitive academy award.
After a wartime blip, Disney returned to its roots with further fairytale and fantasy classics including Peter Pan, Cinderella and the infamous Alice in Wonderland during their Silver Age.
